Couples with kids normally have a hard time choosing a place to vacation. Kids need to be kept busy or they can turn vacation time into hell time. One of the places that offer interesting activities for kids all year long is San Mateo County. Located in the San Francisco Bay area, the county features several museums, parks, camp trails, play centers and the like.  Here are some of the places you can visit during your vacation in San Mateo:

Coyote Point Park:

Coyote Point boasts of expansive grassy lands and large areas sectioned off for picnics. There is also a new play structure for kids and perhaps for young adults looking to recall their childhood. Because the grass lands are cushiony, parents do not have to worry about their kids getting hurt. However, since there is no place to get snacks or food, parents need to get their own.

Central Park:

Central Park has something for everyone such as a children’s train, picnic areas, ball fields, grassy play areas, tennis courts, and children’s play ground. Magic Mountain Playground:

Children will also love the dragon and castle themed Magic Mountain Playground. Visitors can observe live animals at the sanctuary. Apart from this, strolling along the beach and watching colorful boats, shorebirds, windsurfers, is a fun option.

Sawyer Camp Trail:

This trail at the Crystal Springs Reservoir is apt for several activities such as, running, walking, skating, rollerblading, horseback riding and bicycling. People of all ages can enjoy here. Moreover the beautiful scenery just adds to the overall experience.

Safari Run:

Safari run is a healthy entertainment center that offers seasonal camps that include crafts, games, and activities that are focused on specific themes, fitness and nutrition. Small group fitness classes are held for kids that are aimed at building a foundation of nutrition and exercise.

Hillsdale Shopping Center:

Hillsdale Shopping Center is known to have the finest collection of specialty shops and stores including Macy's, Nordstrom, and Sears. It also boasts of the Hillsdale Kid's Club that organizes different programs for kids. While parents can shop, kids can stay entertained with fun activities.

Casanova Park:

Casanova Park is another haven for children that include a play area, basketball hoops and a picnic area. Parents on a budget vacation can certainly make use of this park to fill up their children’s time.

San Mateo County Fair:

San Mateo county fair brings families and communities together and offers something for everyone. There are rides, live stock, concerts, food, and several other exciting activities to keep people of all ages entertained. The fair is held during the summers for nine days.

Vacationing in San Mateo County with kids is exceptionally easy. There is no dearth of entertainment. Moreover, traveling in and around the cities is very easy. San Mateo boasts of a very well developed public transportation system.
